Death Investigation On Highway 7 In Kitchener

(KITCHENER, ON) - On Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at approximately 2:15 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) - Highway Safety Division (HSD) - Cambridge Detachment, received a report of a shooting that occurred on Highway 7 eastbound near Courtland Avenue, in the city of Kitchener. Officers attended the northbound Courtland Avenue ramp to Highway 7 eastbound and located a deceased male.

The investigation is being conducted by the OPP - Highway Safety Division - Major Crime Unit with the assistance of the Waterloo Regional Police - Major Crime Branch and the support from the Forensic Identification Services (OPP), the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service under the direction of Detective Inspector Pete Liptrott of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

The ramp from Courland Avenue northbound to Highway 7 eastbound is closed for the investigation. Highway 7 eastbound is also closed between Homer Watson Boulevard and Courtland Avenue.
