Suspect Sought In Slaying Of Cambridge Man

Waterloo Region, Ontario Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred in Cambridge on January 31, 2019.

Police responded to a residence on Southwood Drive in Cambridge around 6:25 a.m. for a report of an injured male. Upon arrival, police located a male suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The deceased has been identified as Kurt McKechnie, 56, from Cambridge.

A post-mortem examination has determined that Mr. McKechnie died from gunshot wounds.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Major Crime Unit, General Detectives and Forensic Identification officers continue to investigate and are looking to speak to several individuals who were seen in the area at the time.
