OUR HISTORY
The Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory opened January 26, 2001 and is a privately owned Canadian Corporation. The Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is situated on a 117 acre site which includes the environmentally sensitive Kossuth Bog. The 25,000 square foot facility includes a 10,800 square foot indoor tropical garden featuring 1000’s of free flying butterflies from around the world, over 75 different varieties of tropical plants, waterfalls, streams, reflecting pools, tropical finches, chinese painted quail and red-eared slider turtles.

MISSION
The Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is committed to providing a family oriented, educational and entertaining destination, that enhances a greater appreciation for the role insects play in nature and promotes environmental conservation.
EDUCATION
The Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is dedicated to providing enriching and rewarding education programmes for school children. These programmes match the Ontario Science and Technology Curriculum.
RESEARCH
The Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is a research facility providing research opportunities for local schools and universities.

Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is open year round! Fall and Winter Hours of Operation OPEN 10:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. Tuesday - Sunday *Last admission is sold at 4:00pm *Closed Mondays from January 4, 2010 - March 1, 2010 (open Family Day) *Closed December 24, 25, 26 and January 1. Open all other major holidays! Paradise Garden Cafe OPEN 11:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. - Wednesday - Sunday
No outside food or drink is permitted in the facility.
